Ingunn H. Knudsen has been our producer, Bugge Wesseltoft has made the music for the film and Lydhodene (Håkon Lammetud) have been the sound designer. The Norwegian part in the film have been supported by the Norwegian Film Insitute and Fond for Lyd og bilde (Fund for audio and picture).

In the film we follow the artist Jan Wanggard and his crew in the challenging quest of bringing Roald Amundsen´s polar vessel “Maud” back to Norway, after more than 80 years at the bottom of the sea north of Canada.

Now they are bringing the wreck back to Vollen in Norway, where she was built. Will old “Maud” survive the journey?

- We are glad that the new NFI consultant, Stine Skaret, chose our project in this round. This gives us the opportunity to document the process while we are working on the main financing. The reality does not rest, so this was really need fresh resources on the road, says producer and director, Hilde Skofteland.

As we speak, cinematographer and director, Lars Nilsen, is in the Northeast Passage filming in 30 minus degrees celcius. Jan Wanggard is in Cambrigde Bay, diving to document how Maud is where she is laying now, in the Arctic ice. Skofteland Film are present to film this process. Ice and snow has mostly covering “Maud” the last 80 years, and since this is the last winter “Maud” is experiencing like this, this is important to cover by the film crew.

In the film we will also learn about the original Maud expedition form 1917, with Amundsen and his men. There is tons of interesting material to investigate in this matter – just ask our researcher, Sven Arild Storberget, who is buried in old diaries from the crew members and film material as we speak, says Hilde Skofteland with a smile. Hilde´s own great grandfather was a part of the Maud-crew.

Skofteland Film is looking for a documentary film producer with a good eye and understanding for content. You should also have good leadership skills when it comes to the artistic, technical and finacial/administrative.

Experience from working with budgets, funding, pitching/selling, contracts, project descriptions and applications, is an advantage.

You should also have knowledge about funding possibilities, both in Norway and abroad. This producer position will mainly work with standalone documentaries.

If you are experienced or young and talented, it is a must that you have a heart for documentary films and ambitions in the documentary film industry.

Skofteland Film wants the new producer to start as soon as possible, but this can be discussed, and that also regards the lenght of the employment, terms and collaboration options. Several possibilities can be discussed, but the main goal is a permanent position.

- She is the woman behind Skofteland Film´s big success at TV Norge (TV Norway), «Et lite stykke Thailand» («A small piece of Thailand»), so we know each other well from the past. Now we will develope even more great series for television, and we hope to grow as a production company as a result of this investment.

Tale Kristine Skeidsvoll has her first day in the position as chief of development and producer in Skofteland Film 1st of August 2012.

Tale has after finishing her eductation as a TV director in 1995, gained a wide experience within the TV-production industry. She has – amongst many other things – directed the documentary film «From Russia with Love» (TV 2, 1997), documentaries for children, «Pennevenner» (Pen Pals) (NRK, 1998) and «Gullivers hage» (The garden of Gulliver) (NRK 2011). Tale also has experience as a director and editor for tv series as “Robinsonekspedisjonen” (Expedition Robinson) (TV 3, 2004), «Blondinen og nerden» (The blonde and the nerd) (TV 3, 2005), «Jakten på kjærligheten» (Farmer wants a wife) (TV 2, 2008), «Hvem tror du at du er» (Who do you think you are) (NRK 2012). When she worked in the company Strix Televisjon, Tale developed an international tv-format in 2005, «My best friend», that got sold to more than 10 countries. YLE Finland was the first TV station to produce the format in 2005, and has since made several seasons.

Skofteland Film and TV Norge´s major success, «Et lite stykke Thailand» («Thaifjord»), is soon being broadcasted on Swedish television!

In Sweden the series will be called «Thaifjord», and will be broadcasted on SVT the following dates Week 21: Tuesday 22nd of May, Wednesday 23rd of May and Thursday 24th of May – 6PM all dates.

Week 22: Tuesday 29th of May, Wednesday 30rd of May og Thursday 31st of May – 6:15 PM all dates.

Skofteland Film has received 350.000,- Norwegian kroner in production funds from NFI for the documentary film «The Sarnos». The film is a co-production between the Swedish production company Anagram Film, producers Martin Persson and Erik Magnussson and director Wiktor Ericsson.

The Norwegian jazz musician Bugge Wesseltoft is composing the musik for the film, and this is one of the Norwegian contributions for the film. In addition, sound designer Håkon Lammetun in the company Lydhodene, will do the post audio work. Producer in Skofteland Film is Ingunn H. Knudsen.

«The Sarnos» tells the story about The Ingmar Bergman of 42. Street – the American soft porn director and king of films, Joe Sarno and his wife Peggy. They have made plenty of films, and they have also spend their summers in Sweden. Joe is an old man, but he wants to make one last erotic film.

Line producer Kari Anne Øren Thudesen.

Kari Anne Øren Thudesen begins as a line producer in Skofteland Film 28th of March 2012. She will be in charge of  documentary series and other formats Skofteland Film produces for Norwegian broadcasters.

- This is very nice! Kari Anne and her long experience and highly wanted skills, are very welcome at our place. And we are looking bright at the future with Kari Anne onboard, says general director, Hilde Skofteland.

Kari Anne´s last stop was as a production manager at Nordisk Film & TV, and she has previously work on big reality shows such as «71 grader nord» («No boundaries») (TVNorge) og «Heia Tufte» («FC Nerds») (TVNorge), og factual documentaries as  «Livet på vent» («Life on hold») (TV 2), «Thor Heyerdahl – drømmen om paradis» (Thor Heyerdahl – «The dream about paradise»  (NRK), «Tronarvinger i Arktis» («Heir to the Arctic throne»), «Berulfsens Fargerike» («Berulfsen´s colourful») and «Berulfsens Konspirasjoner» (Berulfsen´s conspiracies) (NRK).

Skofteland Film is very satisfied after receiving a package of development support from NFI, that will contribute in the making of three brand new documentary films.

The Norwegian Film Insitute has, with their recent amount of support, 1 million Norwegian kroner, totally granted 1,45 million Norwegian kroner in development funds for Skofteland Film´s major investment and big hope, «The Optimists». The film is directed by Gunhild Westhagen Magnor, and is about a volleyball team in the Norwegian city Hamar, and the players on the team are ladies between 66 and 98 years.

- This is much appreciated news. This means that we can go through with important shooting for the film while it is actually happening, and at the same time we can continue working on the remaining funding. You can´t put the reality on hold, and that is a fact we have met understanding for at NFI, says producer Hilde Skofteland.

NRK and SVT are both involved in the funding part of the film at this point, and the film has also received support from Fond for lyd og bilde (Fund for Picture and Sound), Østnorsk Filmsenter (The film center of Eastern Norway), The Health Associtation of Norwegian women/The Extra Foundation, The Retiree Association, Hedmark County and municipality of Hamar
