Thaifjord a Hit with Viewers
The first of the six-part documentary series, Thaifjord (Et lite stykke Thailand), aired on TVNORGE last Thursday attracting a large television audience. Some 352,000 viewers saw the first episode about life and love in Tresfjord. The number of viewers is at the same level as the successful series, CSI, which over several seasons has faired well on TVNORGE.
”We have invested an enormous amount of labor and resources into the series, and it’s terrific to be rewarded with a large viewership and positive feedback. I think several people at TVNORGE are surprised by the large audience, but deep down I have hoped and had faith that the numbers would be high because I believe that this subject and the participants are very attractive,” says producer Hilde Skofteland at Skofteland Film.
Viewer numbers for the first episode were highest among women between 20-34 years of age, and the program’s market share was 21.5% (riksuniverset 12+). The channel has received an incredible amount of positive feedback from the public via e-mail. Most are saying the same thing – that they had to face up to their own prejudice. “It’s just wonderful to hear that our message got through,” says Skofteland, “and of course as producer and founder it means a lot to me that our first TV production is a success!”
